My Creative Journey

Creativity Runs in the Family

I was born in New Jersey and raised in Las Vegas, where I still live today. Creativity has always been part of my life. My mother was an oil painter and a talented seamstress, while my father was a musician who performed in the Las Vegas lounges. You could say art was simply part of my gene pool.

I began crafting as a child and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and making things by hand. My mother even created clothes for my Barbie dolls, so I may have had some of the best-dressed Barbies in Las Vegas! Those early experiences gave me a lasting appreciation for handmade details and the joy of turning an idea into something real.

From Sewing to Bridal Design

I learned to sew when I was about ten years old, and sewing remained an important part of my creative life as I grew older. Over time, my interests expanded into many different forms of art and mixed media.

Eventually, I opened my own bridal shop and created custom wedding gowns. I loved working with each bride, listening to her ideas, and helping bring her vision to life. That experience strengthened my attention to detail and taught me how meaningful a handmade creation can become.

How Mason Creations Etc. Began

After raising my family, I returned to my love of mixed-media crafting and opened an Etsy shop. I especially enjoyed decorating mason jars, which inspired the name Mason Creations.

I added “Etc.” because I knew I would never be content making only one type of project. My interests have always included many materials, styles, and techniques, and there is always something new waiting to be explored.

Today, Mason Creations Etc. reflects that same creative freedom. It is a place where I can experiment, share what I learn, and celebrate the pleasure of making something by hand.

Sharing and Teaching Through YouTube

A family friend who had a YouTube channel encouraged me to begin sharing my own projects through video. It felt like a natural next step because I have always enjoyed teaching and explaining how things work.

Earlier in my career, I helped with in-house staff training in an office setting. That experience showed me how rewarding it can be to help someone understand a new process and gain confidence.

Through Mason Creations Etc., I now share step-by-step craft tutorials, mixed-media projects, product tips, and ideas from my studio. My goal is to make crafting feel approachable, enjoyable, and encouraging, whether you are trying something for the first time or have been creating for years.

I’m still learning, experimenting, and discovering new ways to create. I hope you’ll join me as Mason Creations Etc. continues to grow through new projects, tutorials, product discoveries, and a welcoming community of people who love making things.
